Face Former Poster
Whether in ENT, orthodontics, speech therapy or physiotherapy, the Face Former has become an integral part of many practices. Its use in these therapies is growing steadily. As a result, we have increasingly received requests for materials to display in waiting and treatment rooms. Over almost 20 years of Face Former therapy, children in particular, but also many adults, have repeatedly asked for the Face Former in other colours. This gave rise to the idea for this poster, for which we simply let our imagination run free with the colours of the Face Former. The poster already hangs in several rooms in our practice, and the response has always been positive – if tinged with some regret, as we cannot supply these colours (yet). But who knows what the future holds.
Functional Space of the Mouth Poster
Frequently requested by doctors and therapists for their waiting and treatment rooms, it is finally available: the poster on the Functional Space of the Mouth. Ever since Dr. Berndsen coined the term Cranio-Cervical Dysfunction Syndrome, or CCDS for short, he has wanted to represent it appropriately in graphic form. This led to the “Functional Space of the Mouth” graphic with its four central functional areas. The graphic illustrates very clearly how the interaction of the four functional areas – central nervous system, neck, nose, and mouth & throat – forms the functional space of the mouth. Dysfunctions in the highly complex interplay of these areas lead to CCDS. The mouth & throat functional area plays a key role here. This is where FaceFormer therapy comes in.

The Constitutively Dominant Function of Swallowing in the Context of CCDS
We answer these questions by first clarifying the difference between symptomatic and causal treatments. Symptomatic therapies dominate everyday medical practice, but often achieve no improvement or only temporary improvement. They are stopgap solutions, used because the causes are not known. Therapies that address the cause, by contrast, aim to change the underlying dysfunction itself.
With FaceFormer therapy, we treat a complex of causes that is associated with many symptoms of illness. Our many years of research have shown that disorders of “Constitutively Dominant Functions” (Berndsen/Berndsen) are accompanied by numerous symptoms whose causal relationships have until now been considered unexplained. FaceFormer therapy addresses these dysfunctions.
